2026 Fall Membership Drive

Our fall membership drive is happening from October 19th - 22nd!

Thank you for being a member!! RWU is built by research workers for research workers.

It took us over 4 years to organize our union and bargain first contract. Since ratification of our first contract in February, we have written our constitution, elected officers, started a steward program, set up the hardship fund and given $50,000 to research workers in need, all while working with OHSU on implementation of our new contract. We have also helped our members get a $1,200 bonus in January to settle an unfair labor practice complaint, and won TWO raises this year; one in March (4-5.5% minimum) and one in October (3.25%).

But we need to strengthen our union so we can fight for more wins for our members. More members leads to better contracts! Do you know a research worker who is not a member? Bring them with you to meet us!

We will have coffee hours at Marquam Hill on Monday and Wednesday, 8-10am (Vollum and Sam Jackson) and the Waterfront on Tuesday and Thursday, 8-10am (KCRB 4th floor and CHH2). Coffee is provided! We will also have a table set up at the top of the tram every day from 3:30-5:30pm. Out at the West Campus? Find us at Anne’s Deli every day from noon-1pm (with gift cards for coffee for new members!). Come by and get RWU gear, some candy, or a limited edition RWU stress ball. We will also be walking through labs and hope to be able to say hello!

The drive culminates in our Fall Social held at Grand Central Bowl at 5:30pm on Thursday, Oct 22nd! Come hang out and bowl with us! Also, don’t follow us on social media? Check out our instagram or facebook (@researchworkers) next week to find out how to participate in our First Annual AROO and Mew Pet Photo contest!
